Obituary for Yvette Roachelle Horton

Yvette Roachelle Horton
Yvette R. Horton passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born November 5, 1970 in Toledo, Ohio.

As a lifelong resident of Toledo, Yvette attended Toledo Public Schools, and was a graduate of E. L. Bowsher High School. Yvette accepted Christ at a young age and was a long term member of The Body of Christ Church. She was recently in search of a new church home, and began attending New Hope Missionary Church.

She enjoyed caring for others, and worked many years as a State Tested Nursing Assistant for Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was also employed by Marysville Releasing Transportation Company, and enjoyed her time there as Transportation Specialist, since it provided her a first look at the new Chrysler vehicles. She had recently decided to return to direct care, completing her coursework and testing in October 2017.

She truly loved life, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She shared a special bond with her first cousin Lashonda Horton, and the two referred to each other as "sisters". She also had a great love of music, enjoying various genres, especially gospel. One of her most recent favorites was "My Testimony" by Marvin Sapp.

Yvette was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Levi & Elizabeth Horton; her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Jenkins; and her mother, Barbara (Horton) Early.

She is survived by: her father, Michael Crockett of Toledo, OH; her children, Christina Washington of Bartlett, TN, Renee Boykin of Toledo, OH, Noah Boykin of Toledo, OH, and Zachariah Secrest of Toledo, OH; one granddaughter, Keirstyn Dimoh of Bartlett, TN; three brothers, Latroy Baldy of Toledo, OH, Mark Crockett of Toledo, OH, and Michael Crockett of Toledo, OH.
