Freeman Walter Hudson, born June 30, 1946 to Willis and (Ruby Goodwin) Hudson in Catula, Georgia. After a lengthy illness he departed this life, on September 12, 2018, at Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Atlanta, Ga., in 1964. He matriculated to Morris Brown College before enlisting into the United States Air Force. He attained the rank of Sergeant as a Military Police Officer. Later he attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio where he majored in Broadcast Communications.
Freeman was a consummate professional in his work life. He retired from Holland Building Services, working at Pilkington, Northwood, Ohio. He also worked for Toledo Building Services, Darlington House and the Toledo Mental Health Hospital. He loved playing radio and worked for several radio stations throughout the country. In Toledo, he worked for WVOI and WRVF radio stations. He trained as a sports announcer and loved to play classic rock and roll music for his listeners. Those who heard his voice, always felt comforted and encouraged.

Freeman is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Paula. He is the father of six children: Denise Hudson, Timothy Hudson (Tina), Lamont Vasquez, Andrea (Damien) Garfield, Patricia Hudson (Rex Roberts) and Leah Hudson (Marcus Temple). He has twelve grandchildren: Bryant Epps, Nia Vasquez, Laylah Roberts, Nadia Temple, Zaaria Vasquez, Lamont Vasquez, Jr., Asya Roberts, Shemuel Roberts, Timothy Hudson, Jr., Cincere Temple, Trinity Temple and Immanuel Roberts; his brother, Randolph Ferguson, Jr .of Atlanta, Ga.; Aunts Dorothy Hudson, Ellen Hudson and Rosie Mae Hudson of Hamilton, Ga;, his favorite Aunt, Lila Star, and his Uncle Charlie Starr of Columbus, Ga. and his Toledo “Mom” Lola Glover. Freeman reconnected with many of his cousins that he grew up with in Georgia and enjoyed many conversations with them, especially Blanchie and Carolyn. He was a friend to so many people and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Turner, his brothers: Robert Hudson, Donald Ferguson, Richard Ferguson, Pete Ferguson.

Freeman was truly a man who knew who he was and whose he was. While he did not seek the spotlight, whenever he was present, he made others feel as if they were the most important person in the room. He loved sports and would spend hours fishing throughout Northwest Ohio. Most importantly, he treasured his family. He loved them all and felt he was blessed by all they have accomplished.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and strove each day to show love to others. He will be missed by his family. The world is a better place because of Freeman Walter Hudson.
