Janet Allen, 76, joined the Lord on September 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born into the union of the late Paul and Mary Pryor on April 16, 1942. She was a lifelong resident of Toledo, OH.

Janet was a graduate of Libbey High School class of 1960. She was employed with the City of Toledo for more than twenty years until her retirement in 1980.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Janet was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially over the holidays. For many years, leading up to her illness she collected and read a large library of books. Janet also loved listening to the "old school" music. She was also an avid gardener. Janet loved her plants and flowers.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Roger Pryor. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years, Louis Allen Sr.; and son Aaron Allen. Janet is survived by her daughters Jana George and Rhonda Burroughs; sons Mack (Gail) Green III., Derrick Green all of Toledo, OH and Alvaro (Dana) George of Long Beach, CA, Louis Allen Jr., and Damon Allen Sr. of Toledo, OH; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; special sisters-in-law Mrs. Morell Fonfield and Mrs. Ruby C. Hill both of Toledo, OH; best and life-long friend Mrs. Kelcy Jones; last but definitely not least, her one and only "Dawn" her first born grandchild. Janet dearly loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dawn always had a special place in her granny's heart. Dawn gave Janet the first experience of being a grandmother.
