Roger S. McFarland was born May 13, 1934 in Abbeville, MS to William and Texanna Lucas McFarland.

He departed this life on August 27, 2018 at the age of 84.

Roger was a lifetime member of Braeden United Methodist Church. Roger attended public school and graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School. He and his father were owners of McFarland and Son Trucking. Later on they owned White Knight Trucking.

He loved watching all sports and loved bowling and won many trophies.

Roger was preceded in death by both of his parents and one sister, Willa Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Reginald (Serita); daughter, Bernetta (Lesley) Boyd; sisters, Lois Lipkins (Jackson, MS) and Annette Savage; Richard (Rachel) Huntley (Reynoldsburg, OH); brothers-in-law, Rev. Madison (Clara) Gregory, (Robert(April) and Charles (Penny) Gregory; sisters-in-law, Sarah Lee, Callie Owens, Alice Gregory; and many nieces, nephews and loving family and friends.
