The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Josephine Yowpp can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

As a voice from the 300 block of Woodland, receive my condolences for the passing of your matriarch, Ms. Josephine. I remember well the friendship she and my mother Annie Pearl Gentry shared while we were neighbors and attended the same schools. I never think of my childhood without remembering the Yowpp family. Over the years I have tried to honor my parent's relationships by acknowledging their friends in their lives and at the times of transition to the best of my ability. On several occasions when in Toledo I made attempts to visit your mother, to extend my greetings, but as always she was on the move and not at home. I was extremely hurt by the news of her passing as she was the last adult link to the early years. I am unable to attend her services and offer my condolences to you personally, but please accept them electronically and in the spirit as I pray God’s peace for you all at this time.
