Larry Duane Butts Sr., 66, affectionately called "Larry" or "FatJak", departed this life on Tuesday July 18, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Toledo, OH at Riverside Hospital to the union of John and Florence Butts. He graduated from Scott High School in 1969. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of the Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. He worked in the Athletic Department as a basketball coach for many years and was a elevator technician for 20 yrs with Dover Elevator.

Larry loved to have fun and was always willing to give freely to anyone who needed help. He worked for years on the 1969 Class Reunion Planning Committee. Larry loved his classmates and being on the committee was a highlight for him. He also enjoyed spending time with his family - especially his mother. He was a "momma's boy". He cherished family and was always the "life of the party" at family gatherings. His entire family will sorely miss him.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, John Butts; fisrt wife, Rhonda Armstrong Butts; and nephew, John-Joshua Butts.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Hasser Sutton-Butts; sons, Jamel (Sherie), Larry and Terry; daughter, Juanita Sutton (Dalano); mother, Florence Butts; sisters, Theresa (Robert G.) Baomi, Wanda Jean; brother, Gregory (Geraldine); fifteen grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and kind friends.
