Obituary for Bernard Erwin Neyland

Bernard Erwin Neyland
Bernard Erwin Neyland

Bernard Neyland was born to the late McLaurin Neyland, Sr. and Daisy Neyland, January 22, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Robert S. Rogers High School, June 1977.

After high school, Bernard studied and received certification as an apprentice from the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee on behalf of the Toledo Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. He worked as an apprentice for 2 years, and began his professional career as certified electrician after attaining his Journeyman Electrician’s license. He was an employee and member of the IBEW Local 8 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) for 40 years, and traveled extensively with his job.

In addition to his profession as a licensed electrician, he had a vast array of innate skills and abilities which he used to help others - major home improvements, construction, brick porch laying, home electrical wiring, auto mechanic - he always gave of himself and his time to help others, not expecting much in return.

He also had a passion for playing the bass guitar.

Bernard fellowshipped at Zion C.O.G.I.C.; he was baptized at the New Life C.O.G.I.C.

Bernard is survived by his beloved mother, Daisy Neyland; eight brothers and sisters: McLaurin, Jr., Kathleen, Sandra, Michael, Denise, Vincent, Gwendolen (and husband, Ron) and Eliana; niece and nephews: Elissa, Jamarr and Jayden; two great-grandnieces Kayla and Ashli; and a host of other relatives.
