Obituary for Myrtle Bernice Walton

Myrtle Bernice Walton
Myrtle Bernice was born on November 4, 1936 in Sulligent, Alabama, to the parentage of Raymond and Sally Thompson. She was educated in the Sulligent school system. She later moved to Toledo, OH where she met and married James Walton. To this union three children were born, twins (Glen and Glenda), and Orlando.
She confessed a hope in Christ at a very early age. Upon arriving in Toledo, OH, she joined The Saint James C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Bishop William James. As a faithful member of the church, she served in many capacities until her health began to fail.
She worked for many years at the Maumee Valley State Hospital. She then worked as a corrections officer for the Lucas County Correction Center. She was a loving woman and it was obvious that she loved the Lord.
She was a phenomenal cook and could make the most scrumptious yeast rolls in the world.
Mother Walton transitioned to glory peacefully on Tuesday, March 6th. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son, Glen.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Glenda (Charles), of Toledo, OH. One son, Orlando (Everna), of Jacksonville, FL. One sister, Pearline Metcalf of Sulligent, Alabama. 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many special sisters, and a host of endearing and loving relatives and friends.
