Obituary for James Wheatley

James  Wheatley
James "Bones" Wheatley, was born on July, 27, 1934, in Shaw, Mississippi, to Johnnie Mae Mack and James Wheatley, Sr. He peacefully made his transition in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on February 27, 2018.

James confessed his life to Christ at an early age. Growing up, James attended Gunckel Elementary and graduated from Libbey High School. He furthered his education with Wittenberg University in Management. He worked several jobs over the course of his life including, S & S Metropolitan Distribution, and Toledo Edison/First Energy, as a Coal Miner Foreman.

His hobbies were watching sports, fishing, traveling and bowling. A unique soul, James was very caring,loving and known to be quiet and reserved, his favorite past time was sitting in his garage enjoying the breeze. James also shared a bond with his brother, Robert Kelly. He was also part of group known as "The Magnificent Five".

James was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tina Wheatley, 2 brothers, Lonnie and Marion Kelly.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Jocelyn Moore, Pamela (Stanley, Sr.) Wheatley-Clark, and Dianne Taylor of VA; granddaughters, Nychola "Nikkye" Moore of GA, Krislyn Moore, Staja Clark, Monique Morgan Peters of VA,; grandson, Stanley Clark, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brione Walker, Nai'ya Landry of GA, Jeffrey Peters of VA, Taylor Peters of VA; great great grandchild, Kennedi Blue, who brought a smile to his face and lifted his spirits; sister, Willa Mae Washington; brother, Robert Kelly, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

The family of James Wheatley would like to give recognition to Ohio Living Home and Hospice. A special thanks to Sandra and Jill for their compassion and care over their loved one.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 11:00 am, preceded by a 10:00 am Wake, at The House of Day Funeral Service, Rev. Ernest Jackson, Jr., officiating.
