On Thursday January 18, 2018 at the age of eighty-three years old "Mother" Mary Henderson went home to be with the Lord, our God. Mary was born August 9, 1934 in Madison County, Mississippi.

As a young adult Mary made her way to Toledo, OH where she lived most of her life. She retired from Park View Hospital and also worked for a time at the Lion Store.

A loving and faithful servant of God, Mary was a very active member of Southern Missionary Baptist Church. At Southern Mary found a church family whom she loved dearly and spoke of often.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Booker T. Henderson, mother Luvenia Sims, father Deacon Stanford Sims, siblings Annie Lee Brown, Eddie Lee Sims, Rosaline Small, and Cleophus Sims; and her beloved son Kenneth Levon Brown Sr.

With her homegoing Mary leaves her daughter Sylvia Hewitt-Simpson; siblings Sylvester Sims (Irma), Ida Waterford, Ruthie Dunomes, Fred Sims (Sheilah), and Earnestine Sims; Grand-children Ingrid Crumby, Tiffin Brown, Kenneth Brown Jr., and Kenny Brown; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves a wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
