Obituary for Maudie Dell Rixey

Maudie Dell Collins Rixey, 82 of Toledo, Ohio made her transition from this life on Monday January 15, 2018, at Flower Hospital surrounded by her loving family and good friends. Maudie was born on March 13, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio to the union of Walter and Estella Collins. Maudie graduated from the former Edward Drummond Libbey High School and attended University of Toledo before she met and married the love of her life the late William E. Rixey. Maudie worked 37 years for the United Stated Post Offices retiring as a financial clerk. Maudie was a faithful member of Braden United Methodist Church for over 60 years, serving on various committees. Maudie was well known for her cooking and hospitality. There are many other wonderful attributes that could be listed about Maudie, but she preferred to let her life tell her story. Maudie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Linda, son William ( Billy) Rixey of Toledo, four granddaughters, and two great grandchildren, sister Ethel ( Fay Collins ) Lewis of Toledo, nieces, nephews, other a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 25, 2018 at Braden United Methodist Church 4725 Dorr St. Toledo, Ohio at 11:00 AM followed by funeral services at 12:00 PM Pastor Winston Dixon officiant, burial at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Services entrusted to House of Day Funeral services.
