Obituary for Oliver Arnold Sr.

Oliver Arnold Sr.
Oliver Arnold, 80
Oliver, affectionately known by all as "TJ" received his final call on December 03, 2017. He was born in White Castle, Louisiana on October 24, 1937. TJ was one of eight children born to the late Chester Arnold Sr. and Albertha Smith Arnold. He matriculated through White Castle education system prior to relocating to Toledo, Ohio at the age of 17.
TJ was married to Marcia on July 22, 1983; they were together for a total of 40 years. TJ was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
TJ worked as a laborer for more than 30 years. He worked at Sears for 10 years, Interlake Iron for 21 years, and C&W Tank for 7 years; retiring in 1993.
TJ enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and giving them “knuckle” sandwiches, he was an avid gardener, and loved to work in his yard. He spent his pass time sitting on the porch, watching Westerns and enjoying a little nip.
TJ will forever be remembered by his devoted wife Marcia Arnold, children: Thelma (Michael) Abernathy, Twana Arnold, Latriesa Alexander, Oliver (Ann) Arnold Jr., Kevin (Orlean) Arnold, and Leticia (Bobby) Smith. Stepchildren: Eileen Price, Rodney (Marcia) Price, and Marzetta Price,. Siblings: Thelma (Herbert) Hawkins, Melvin Arnold Sr., Ernestine Mathis, Evelyn (Gus) Soniat, Lloyd (Pamela) Arnold, Chester (Brenda) Arnold Jr., Lydia Linda Aboagye; thirty-six (36) grandchildren and seventy (70) great-grandchildren . He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one child: Amy Arnold, and three grandchilren: April Arnold, Tevin Arnold, and Romeo Alexander.

"TJ would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing and gardening to his heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. He left detailed instructions for his wife, children, and grandchildren to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed."
