James Clifton  Smith
James Clifton Smith, 53 peacefully ascended into heaven on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. James was born on February 2, 1964 in Hampton, Virginia to the late James Everette and Julia Christine Johnson. He was a graduate of Bethel High School in Hampton and attended Hampton University. James worked in Law Enforcement and proudly served in the United States Army.
He served on the Deacon Board at Inspirational Church and truly loved the Lord. Christ was always a part of his life.
James loved spending time with family and friends, coaching football and traveling.
He loved doing his famous Bernie Mac impression. He always kept you laughing and was a very admirable man. James was preceded in death by his father James Everette and his mother Julia Christine Johnson..
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Shawn; son Devon; stepmom Rosa Bolden; Stepdad Marvin Johnson; brothers Eric, Troy, Kevin Johnson and Kevin Everette; sisters Melanie Bass and Kyndra Bolden; nieces Laylah and Christian; grandchildren Z'Kier (Chip) and Elijah; and a host of other relatives and friends.
