The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Vincent Woodhouse can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: I want to pay final gratitude to you Daddy Vince, my dad, my father, my friend and my hero!!!

"When a man sees his end, he wants to know that there was some purpose to his life"...Marcus Aurelius (Roman Emperor - 160s) ....What was Dad's purpose?

Firstly and most importantly, he was into his church; he was a very spiritual man. He opened up his home to displaced needy children...this was him dedicating himself to give back and serve. He also was a very deep complex thinker with an insatiable appetite to learn, to teach and to challenge others. He had a charismatic personality and a great sense of humor.

A very authoritative and prominent figure, he did not need to utter a single word to command respect. His unspoken words carried the most symbolic weight.

He was a very hard worker... at an early age, he instilled good work ethics in me. Striving for the very BEST was not an option...it was the only option.

I will truly miss you Daddy V but your legacy and teachings are embedded and will live on in me and those who follow.

You have taught me some great lessons... self confidence, self determination...self reliance...but the greatest teaching of all is to believe in myself. Those lessons too will live on.

Remembering you is going to be the easy part but missing you will be extremely difficult.

I want thank all for their kindness and sympathy during this difficult time. It gives great comfort to know that you are thinking about us -- OW

Condolence From: Victoria Woodhouse-Barnes
Condolence: What does a daughter say when her father makes his transition into the after-life? She could write a book, maybe two or more. One thing that must be said is that no one can fill the place of a father - not in his lifetime and certainly not after his passing. Daddy Vin, I will cherish fond memories I have of you: Your stature that as a child made me feel that I was safe and secured with my father. Your smile, soft spoken voice, and the gift of singing which you used to glorify the Lord. These and other characteristics in you, all formed templates for some choices I have made in my life. These are also characteristics of yours that I see in me. Prayers are the answers to every unspoken word; Memories are the link between the past and a future without you Daddy Vin. And may love and the sharing of those memories serve as the bond between the heart of those you left behind. May your soul rest in peace. Your daughter Victoria Woodhouse-Barnes(affectionately called Marlene).
