I want to pay final gratitude to you Daddy Vince, my dad, my father, my friend and my hero!!!
"When a man sees his end, he wants to know that there was some purpose to his life"...Marcus Aurelius (Roman Emperor - 160s) ....What was Dad's purpose?
Firstly and most importantly, he was into his church; he was a very spiritual man. He opened up his home to displaced needy children...this was him dedicating himself to give back and serve. He also was a very deep complex thinker with an insatiable appetite to learn, to teach and to challenge others. He had a charismatic personality and a great sense of humor.
A very authoritative and prominent figure, he did not need to utter a single word to command respect. His unspoken words carried the most symbolic weight.
He was a very hard worker... at an early age, he instilled good work ethics in me. Striving for the very BEST was not an option...it was the only option.
I will truly miss you Daddy V but your legacy and teachings are embedded and will live on in me and those who follow.
You have taught me some great lessons... self confidence, self determination...self reliance...but the greatest teaching of all is to believe in myself. Those lessons too will live on.
Remembering you is going to be the easy part but missing you will be extremely difficult.
I want thank all for their kindness and sympathy during this difficult time. It gives great comfort to know that you are thinking about us -- OW
