Obituary for Carlton Lee Baucom

Carlton Lee Baucom, affectionately known as “Khru”, was born September 12, 1961 in Toledo, Ohio. He died unexpectedly on July 16, 2017, at the age of 55.
Khru was a 1979 graduate of Rogers High School and served honorably in the United States Army following graduation. He recently received his Associates Degree in Business Management from Stautzenberger College and was planning to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree at Tiffin University prior to his death.
Khru was baptized and received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He will be fondly remembered for his gregarious, hearty laugh, fun loving ways and boisterous chatter. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed cooking, babysitting his grandson and pursuing his educational goals.
Khru’s greatest accomplishment in life was successfully raising from infancy his only child, daughter Cartina Baucom, whom he adored. He was the very proud and loving grandfather to his only grandson Adonis, and was looking forward to celebrating Adonis’ first birthday.
Khru was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Shaw, Jr. and Mildred Shaw, and special cousin Shelton “Dion” Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Cartina Baucom, grandson Adonis Frieson; brothers Derreck Shaw and Dezra (Tamir) Shaw; special niece and nephews Ziana, DiKaya and Daijan Shaw; father, Lee Thomas Long of Lansing, Michigan; sisters Rachel Neville, Jacqueline Holmes, Rita Arnold, Tracey Long, Latricia Long, Penny Pointer, Laura Hall and Cindy Long; aunts Betty Baucom, Lola Baucom, Dorothy Baucom, Catherine Baucom, Joann Shaw, Hilda Shaw, Joann (Ernie) Pierce and Annie Byrd; and numerous relatives and friends.
