Mildred Cornathan the 4th of eight children was born on December the 12, 1936 to the union of the late Otis and Charlena Washington of Carroll County Mississippi. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice surrounded by family and friends.

At an early age Mildred confessed her faith in Christ at Union Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, Mississippi. She attended Ambrose Vocational Technical High School in Lexington, Mississippi graduating in 1957. She continued her walk with Christ when she moved to Toledo when she joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1957. She was a loyal member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She also served faithfully on the Usher Board.

In the winter of 1962, Mildred married Stanley Cornathan. Mildred was a cook at various restaurants and also at the Darlington House where she later retired from. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grand kids, crossword puzzles and picked up a new hobby Facebooking on her Kindle.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Stanley, children Stanley Cornathan III, Lisa Cornathan, Carol Edwards, Michael (Lesley) Cornathan, grandson Michael Cornathan Jr., granddaughters Christen Edwards & Ashley Cornathan, brothers CJ (Elaine) Washington, Charles (Sallie) Washington, Will A Washington, sisters Tommie Fraizer and Annie (Clarence) Cooper and a host of beloved nieces, nephews family and friends. Preceded in death by her brother Otis Washington Jr, sister Naomi Martens and granddaughter Diamond Edwards.

The family of Mildred Cornathan wishes to thank and express our sincerest appreciation for all of your prayers, cards, flowers, food, condolences and other expressions of kindness extended to us at this time of bereavement. Special thank you to Reverend Floyd Smith, Jr. and the Calvary Baptist Church members for opening your doors and extending their hospitality to our family. The Staff and volunteers at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice for the care and compassion shown to our family. To the many co-workers, neighbors, family and friends, we thank you.
