Helen Hogan was born on April 5, 1924 in Prospect, Tennessee. She went to sleep on January 7, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.
Helen is the second child of Herman Shorter, Sr. and Ozabel Petty. She had an older brother, Herman Shorter, Jr. She loved to cook and garden and most of all take care of her family. She married J. C. Hogan on February 19, 1949 and moved to Toledo in 1955. Two daughters from their union were born, Jacqueline and
Gwendolyn.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Jacqueline Wilson and Gwendolyn Ahmed; grandchildren, Lynnn Claybrooks, Linda Ragland, Kimberly Wilson, Tabitha Wilson, Robin Wilson, Sarah Hussein, Meenal Hogan and Leslie Barbo?
