Obituary for Patricia Ann Payne-Cotton

Funeral services will be held, Friday, April 29, 2016, at 11:00am, preceded by an 11:00am Wake, at the House of Day Funeral Service. Patricia Ann (Payne) Cotton, "Granny Jo", 82, of Toledo, Ohio, exchanged this life for eternal life, to be with the Lord, on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in Toledo, Ohio, after a short illness. Patricia was the third of six children, born on June 22, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Charles and Eutha (Wyatt) Payne. In 1936, at the tender age of three, Patricia's parents moved to Toledo, Ohio, where she attended Toledo Public Schools and later became a 1951 graduate of Whitney High School. Right after her graduation, she married Charley "King" Cotton, a well known boxer of Toledo, Ohio, whom she married, on July 29, 1951. "Jo" Patricia, was a very dedicated loving wife, mother and homemaker, whose love and kindness for her husband and children, went far above and beyond what anyone could ask. She enjoyed being around her family, as well as, shopping, cooking, baking, sewing, canning and gardening. Patricia received Christ at a very early age and was a long time member of All Saints Episcopal Church, located at 563 Pinewood, Toledo, Ohio. She also reared her family and others in the direction of Christ. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eutha, husband, Charley Cotton, infant baby, sisters, Donna Payne, Emily Payne-Hall and brother, Charles Payne. Patricia is survived by her six children, Charles Cotton, Toledo, OH, Chara Cotton-Reynolds of Detroit, MI, James (Natalie) Cotton, Toledo, OH, Chandra Cotton-Armstrong, Toledo, OH, Cheryl (Melvin) Cotton-Craig, Toledo, OH, and William Cotton, Toledo, OH; siblings, Frank Payne, Milwaukee, WI, and Edward (Wilhelmina) Payne, Orange PK, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Cotton, St. Louis, MO, and a host of dearly loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
