Obituary for Lonnie Newson Jr.

Services are 6:00 pm Monday, April 13, 2015 preceded by wake services at 5:00 pm at The House of Day Funeral Service. "Sputnik" 59, passed away March 30, 2015, at Mercy St. Anne's Hospital. Born March 27, 1956, Lonnie was a graduate of Macomber Vocational High School. Lonnie served in the U.S. Navy for nearly 18 years and worked for various security companies in California and Ohio. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Z.L. and Mamie Jones; parents, Lonnie B. and Versie Mae Newson. He is survived by brothers, Geoffrey Jones and Ocie Keth (Frenchcheryl) Newson; sister, Eola Rochelle (Al) Moore; special aunt, Helen Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Funeral Services are Monday, April 13, 2015, 6:00 p.m. at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel, preceded by 5:00 p.m. wake. Pastor Derek Arnold eulogist.
