Obituary for Jofre Lamar King

Jofre La’Mar King, Sr., went to be with our Lord, at the age of 30, on December 25, 2015. He was born on June 22, 1985, in Toledo, Ohio, to Sheila King and Robert King, Sr. Jofre was raised in Toledo, where he attended Elementary and High School, during his Middle School years, the family moved to Columbus, Ohio. In 2010, Jofre moved back to Columbus, Ohio, with his girlfriend and 3 children, to explore better job opportunities. Jofre was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was a part of, ” Steppin Out on Faith Ministry”. In April of 2013, he was baptized and born again, at Calvary Apostolic Church, in Columbus, Ohio. He was involved in several ministries and volunteered for special events at the church. Jofre was a loving father, his children were his pride and joy, when they weren’t with him, that’s all he talked about. Jofre loved to cook and fix things. He was a special “Handyman” to his mother, family and friends, whatever was broken and needed fixing, Jofre was the man for the job. Jofre was preceded in death by his brother, Robert King, Jr., grandmothers, Maggie Woffard and Magnolia Moore, godbrother, Kemonte Jones. He leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Sheila (Keith) Moore; father, Robert (Cynthia) King, Sr.; children, Jofre, Jr., Jeremiah, Davion and Amahrianna; brother, Le’Sean Shoemaker; sister, SheKelia; grandmother, Patricia (Michael) Wright; uncles, Johnnie King, Arthur King, Frank Moore and David Moore; aunts, Angela King, Cynthia King, Crystal Gordon, Gwendolyn Shoemaker, Regina Howard, Mae Stokes, Anita Moore and Rhonda Moore; godfather, Gary Shoemaker; godmother’s, Tracy King, Victoria Wilson, and Camera Shaffer-Mitchell; special cousin, Patriann Booth; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday, January 8, 2016, at 11:00am, preceded by a 10:00am Wake at Friendship Baptist Church, 5301 Nebraska Ave.
